The man with the craziest hair in electronic music today, The Gaslamp Killer has been ripping up DJ sets for years, extolling the dancier cuts to originate from LA’s beat scene. He’ll be dropping his debut artist album Breakthrough later this month on the Flying Lotus owned Brainfeeder records, and as such has made the album’s lead single available as a free download. Featuring fellow Californian Daedelus, Impulse sports a deliciously distorted blend of off-kilter percussion and agitated synths, underpinned by an ominous saw-tooth bassline.
