White Noise (feat. Aluna George) - Disclosure - White Noise (2013, PMR)

With the release date of their debut album getting closer and closer, Disclosure yet again whet our appetites with their first single of 2013, collaborating with fellow British up-and-comer Aluna George. Given their shared trajectories into the limelight it was only a matter of time before the two collaborated, but thankfully the results more than live up to the hype.

White Noise sees Disclosure cement the sound that has been getting them so noticed over their last few releases — a blend of timely UK bass and timeless house music, all crafted with notable attention to detail and an ear for melody — and Aluna George’s sassy vocals fit with the duo’s production like a glove. Get set to hear this catchy bass line quite often these next few months.

Higher Ground - TNGHT - TNGHT EP (2012, Lucky Me)

The hype just keeps building for the debut LP from TNGHT, the collaboration between beatmakers Lunice and Hudson Mohawke. The five track release drops on the 23rd, but in the meantime the pair have just released this video to accompany Higher Ground. Money (Basement Jaxx Remix) - The Drums - Money (Basement Jaxx Remix) (self-released, 2012)

Basement Jaxx quietly released a remix of The Drums’ Money via their SoundCloud a few days ago, and it’s just the kind of top-notch production that you’d expect from the British duo. Have I ever mentioned how much I love remixes that play around with tempo? Well I do, and this does so spectacularly, seamlessly dropping into the relaxed surfer-rock groove of The Drums’ original track, before switching it back up to a more club-friendly electro house tempo.

Audio Video Disco - Justice - Audio Video Disco (2011, Ed Banger)

Ed Banger boss and serial party-starter Busy P dropped the world premiere of Justice’s Audio Video Disco at Hard Summer a few days ago, the second track to be heard from their prog-rock inspired second LP, also titled Audio Video Disco, and is slated for release in late October.

I’m still a bit worried their sophomore won’t live up to their incredible, genre defining 2007 debut, but this track really doesn’t sound too bad, even if it’s not exactly groundbreaking.
